Tour Details

On this One Day Waterfalls Tour, visit two rainforest waterfalls plus Mount Hypipamee National Park, a World Heritage listed park.

Your day begins with a visit to the Gillies Range as you make your way to the Atherton Tablelands. With gourmet food, wine trails, bird watching, waterfalls, and incredible natural wonders, the Atherton Tablelands will certainly make your day. As you immerse yourself in a world full of rolling grassy hills, eucalypt mountains, cascading waterfalls, and volcanic craters, your worries and pressures of everyday life will be forgotten.

The next stop on your Australian adventure tour are visits to the Cathedral and Curtain Fig Trees, located in the Atherton Tablelands. Cathedral Fig Trees are most commonly found in the rainforest off the Lake Tinaroo circuit road. The Curtain Fig Tree is an absolutely breathtaking sight. The fig has aerial roots that grow from a seed deposited high in a host tree. They have overtaken the host tree and now form a 'curtain' reaching to the ground, which is the reason it is known as the "Curtain Fig Tree." When you encounter these vast and incredible trees, you will be amazed by their complex, intertwined branches and roots.

Continue on to tour Lake Barrine National Park, where you will embark on a rainforest walk. Lake Barrine is actually a crater left by a volcanic eruption approximately 10,000 years ago. As you tour the area, listed as a World Heritage Rainforest, you will encounter the unspoiled beauty of the enchanting natural lake hidden within the rainforest. Lunch will be served after your rainforest walking tour.

Following lunch, journey through the countryside, where you can enjoy swimming in several waterfalls, going on a jungle trek, and visiting a world heritage park. One of the waterfalls you will have the opportunity to swim near is Millaa Millaa. These falls are 60 feet high and are equipped with a pool suitable for swimming at the base. Your rainforest trek tour will take place in Dinner Falls. Unlike most waterfalls, Dinner Falls consists of three main sections, and each section has distinct shapes and characteristics. Also, the national park you will visit is Mount Hypipamee National Park. What's special about this park is that it consists of a cylindrical volcanic pipe with a lake at the bottom. The area has several different forest types within a small area and is home to a diversity of possums. You'll then stop for tea and coffee before heading back to Cairns. So that you're fully equipped for your tour's many adventures, make sure to bring a small backpack with swimming gear, a towel, walking shoes, and a change of clothes.

There's so much to see in Australia, but this wilderness tour will show you the best of the best. Enjoy swimming, hiking, and experiencing Australian wildlife as you witness the area's incredible natural beauty.
